Driving - 3 days post partum
and so the back and forths begin... 4 years ago, I also had to leave Bonchie in the hospital (for the exact same reason as Vinci) and do the back and forths thing. It was so different then, as I was on ML, Von was on PL, and all we had to worry about was Von's wait time while I'm in the nursery with Bonchie.
This time though everything is different. Having a new baby doesn't make the life of your first one stop. Bonchie has school and of course we don't want his life to adjust just because we added a new member in the family. So Bonchie had to continue his everyday routine of going to school and Von would have to take him. I have another son in the NICU, that I cannot NOT go to. So 3 days post partum, I had to be back in the wheel and drive myself to the hospital. I guess this is one of my greatest mommy milestone. Everyone that I tell this to is amazed and fascinated as to how I'm up on my feet and functioning normally so quickly. I also have NO IDEA how I pulled it off, I guess a mom's got to do what mom's got to do.
And of course, I wouldn't want to miss a day with my new baby, or any baby for that matter. Upon seeing him, I was so surprised as to how much he's grown so quickly. Look at those cheeks!
I stayed with him for more than 3 hours, just sitting there, nursing, cuddling, telling him I'm his mom and how excited everyone in the family is to meet him. I guess we'd have to do this for 5 more days until you go home. 5 days of going back and forth to you is nothing. I am your mom, and I'd go the distance, the lengths, for you and your Kuya. Looking forward to have you home.
PS: one day you'd get to read this. I hope you and Kuya feel the tantamount love my heart has for the 2 of you.
