2 days post partum, after a normal delivery, I am officially discharged from the hospital and can go home. Vinci, however, can not. As with his Kuya, he has to stay in the NICU for a week to finish his dose of antibiotics. He's fine (I hope), just that he was stressed during the 12 hour labor (sya pa nastress noh? habang ako ang umiire... lol) and pooped as he was getting pulled out (just like Kuya). He's a little lethargic and has a poor suck so the pedia advised to keep him in to make sure all is alright.

I got 2 choices, to either stay confined in the hospital for 7 days so we get discharged together or go home and visit him everyday. I had to make the practical choice, as room rates as much more expensive that gas. So I bid my new baby goodbye, for now.

Kuya, on the other hand, is excited to have me home and all to himself for a couple more days. I've been preparing and psyching him for the arrival of the new baby for the last 9 months and I can say that he is ready. But of course, I think he is happy to be the only child for a little more time. I feel very proud though about how he's handled the whole separation with me and his dad being in the hospital for the last two days. He's grown very matured and ready to be a Kuya. Very excited for the baby to come too and can't wait to meet his little brother.
