healthier & fitter lifestyle pt 3: Delicious Diet PH - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - SO NOT RECOMMENDED
I'm on my 2nd week with Delicious Diet PH. I've got a very detailed positive feedback and have been promoting them to my friends... until today.
To be fair, Delicious Diet PH's food choice and quality is way better, more delicious and healthy than the 1st provider I've tried. In my "drafted" blog that for some reason have not found the time to publish, I have detailed how much I was satisfied with everything they've served, how everything was a "favorite" and how I've finally found the provider to stick with for I don't know how long.
Then today happened and I no longer have any intentions of publishing my 1st blog. Delicious Diet PH committed the biggest failure of any delivery service, they failed to deliver. Last week, I've been very patient and understanding with their inconsistent delivery schedules. There are days that the rider will be by the gate at 5am, waking the sleeping people of the house and there are days when they deliver at 6, 7, 8am - I have never figured out what their delivery route was. I think it started last Thursday, usual rider wasn't reachable since the night before. I received a text early morning about the situation and I was ok with it. I take my breakfast at 7PM so the delay doesn't matter. By 10am, the food came and it was all messed up. It seemed like the food was carried sideways, the ever popular lasagna that I've been waiting for the whole week looked sloppy and mixed with the bread. Of course, I raised the concern to the POC - I don't mind the delay but I mind how the food that I paid for which is not cheap looked liked. I would have expected this handling if I ordered from a carinderia and paid 30php for it, not my 360php meal. The POC knew how to handle the complaint. He apologized, owned the mistake and offered a refund. I accepted and had the refund deducted to my next week's payment.
So came this week. Monday 5am, one of the 2 days when I get to sleep at night, the rider was calling my cell telling me he was there. Irritating, yes but I had to understand. It was a new rider, we had 2 gates, it was a little annoying that the last week's rider has figured out that he can get past the 1st gate and knock on the 2nd gate. But no, this rider had no courtesy whatever on what time of the day it was and couldn't care less about the convenience of the customer. Being the customer who signed up for this, I had to understand. Tuesday 8am, still no delivery. I had to text to find out what time is the food arriving. I received a reply from a different number that the rider had a flat tire, ETA is 10am the latest. I repeat, I work at night and sleep during the day. The expectations set when I 1st signed up - AM delivery between 530-930am. 10am is way past the expectation. 1030am I get a call from the rider, just while I was on the verge of falling asleep asking where my location was. Seriously?!?!? You deliver for a living!!! Why would you deliver without knowing where to go?!?! 2pm I woke up, checked with the people at home if the food has arrived. Nope still no food delivered. This is no longer acceptable. I immediately got a call from the POC as soon as my text has been sent. He said he feels so ashamed, he'll find out what happened. Well he should be! He asked how I want them to make it up to me, I said improve! He offered full refund for the week. I said this is not about the refund, it is about the commitment and expectations they've set with their customer. Their service is not cheap, the least they can do is make it worth the money. Cut the long story short, I got refunded which is what any customer deserve. He promised that they'd still continue to deliver for the rest of the week. I don't have high expecatations, they're not really that good with their commitments.
So, me the "promoter" has turned into a "detractor" over night. Will I recommend them ever? Never. The inconvenience and the stress is not worth it. Do I have a thing against them? No, I just want to share my experience and somehow hope that others wont go through the same. The POC even mentioned that this is just a "series of unfortunate events", well guess what, I believe in unfortunate coincidences but not a series of them. A series means a pattern. This mistake, this isn't a one off. I would swear that this has happened before and the previous victim just chose to remain silent or was appeased by the offered refund. Well, I am sorry. I have to speak my mind. And hopefully in my own way, get to save other unfortunate less vocal customers than me the hassle and the trouble of these "series of unfortunate event".
PS: I got a text saying someone "received" the delivery. Ridiculous right? Addresses and residents are unique, and my mind will never find a way to begin to comprehend this (sorry for the harsh term) stupidity.
Btw, POC may be the owner or manager or whatever. I do not care.
At the end of the day, good food wouldn't matter if it doesn't get to the consumer. Delivery services wouldn't exist if they fail to deliver.
Furious,
Vin
